Rachel and Mike’s stylish summer wedding was a masterclass in English Country Garden romance. The couple married at Prestwold Hall, Leicestershire, in June, making the most of the idyllic countryside setting and summer sunshine. From the dramatic florals to the traditional garden games, Rachel and Mike’s big day is packed with summer wedding inspiration. Photography by the wonderful Emma-Jane Photography.
Rachel’s timeless bridal style
Our real bride Rachel looked incredible in her lace wedding dress. Featuring an illusion lace bodice, fishtail skirt and deep-V neckline, it was a modern take on classic bridal style. Just perfect for our elegant stately home wedding venue. Paired with a full-length, lace-edged veil and a spectacular bouquet of flowers channelling a wildflower feel, Rachel absolutely wowed.
The idyllic church ceremony
Rachel and Mike chose St Andrew’s Church to exchange their vows. Set on the Prestwold Estate, this historic and picturesque church is just a short stroll from the main house and provided a very special setting for the couple’s intimate ceremony. After the ‘I do’s Rachel, Mike and their guests walked to Prestwold Hall in the glorious June sunshine, enjoying the beautiful countryside views.
As well as a church ceremony, we’re able to host both indoor and outdoor ceremonies on the estate. You can find out more about our different ceremony space options here.
English country garden reception styling
We adore everything about the couple’s chic English Country Garden wedding reception styling. Rachel and Mike transformed Prestwold’s Dining Room, filling it with colourful floral displays for that ‘bringing the outside in’ feel.
Roses, carnations, sweet peas and gypsophila, in a pretty mix of pastel shades, created a sweet, whimsical feel. Trailing leafy green foliage added volume and texture.
Tall cornflower blue candles in gold candlesticks, added a sense of occasion, while blush pink fabric chair back ties pulled the pastel theme together to perfection. Set against the sumptuous backdrop of the Dining Room’s period interiors, the overall feel was one of relaxed luxury.
All about those little touches
Rachel and Mike really thought of everything, filling their special day with unique touches to show off their personal couple style. The couple laid out some traditional garden games to encourage their guests to enjoy Prestwold Hall’s spacious grounds. The wedding-themed crazy golf was a huge hit with their guests!
Another favourite was their ‘help yourself’ sweet table. Bowls of jellybeans, liquorice allsorts, mini eggs and more were all laid out in glass bowls, along with monogrammed paper bags for guests to create their own pick ‘n’ mix. Unsurprisingly, the Ferrero Rocher and flying saucers sweetie tree displays went down a storm.
For their evening guests, Rachel and Mike served their signature couple cocktails and the most delicious woodfired pizza. The party continued until late, with everyone getting involved with the wedding photo booth.
