Love a timeless big day style? Inspired by the classic rhyme, “Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue,” Prestwold Hall teamed up with some of the very best wedding professionals in the country to create this elegant and beautifully chic styled shoot. From bridal fashion – just look at those incredible blue heels – to reception décor, our collaboration with some of the industry’s finest delivers all the Something Blue wedding inspiration you need for your own big day. A huge thank you to Faye Wilde for the shoot concept, planning and photography. Pinterest boards at the ready, you’ll going to love everything about this spectacular shoot.

Beautiful blue blooms
Channel a romantic vibe by making your wedding flowers your Something Blue. Nottinghamshire florists Gigil & Bloom set the scene with tall, statement floral displays framing the entrance to the reception venue. Here, blousy blue hydrangeas took centre stage, adding texture and volume to the dramatic arrangements. Displayed in oversized white urns set on marble plinths, the overall look was English Country Garden luxe.

Prestwold Hall’s Dining Room was dressed perfectly for a stylish wedding reception with boxes of bold hydrangeas edging the bottom of the long dining table. Wildflower blooms in blues and whites were displayed in mismatched vases along the table, bringing a whimsical feel to the setting.

The statement cake
Putting a contemporary spin on the traditional tiered wedding cake, Rock ‘N’ Roll Baker worked the Something Blue theme with a dreamy, ruffled design. Wrapped in petal layers of icing in blue ombré and flecked with dazzling gold, it made a modern centrepiece for this inspirational styled shoot.

Something Blue wedding details
It’s the little details that really bring a wedding theme to life, and the creative team behind this shoot filled the day with touches of Something Blue to pull the look together. From elegant dusky blue letterpress wedding invitations to ribbon-tied menus, the stationery added a sophisticated vibe.

Tables were dressed with pale blue tapered candles, beautiful blue glassware, scalloped edge placemats and trailing ribbon-tied napkins, for an opulent, luxurious feel. All these details looked right at home in Leicestershire’s Prestwold Hall, with the venue reflecting the tone with grand chandeliers and ornate period décor.

Luxurious bridal style
From the silk bridal pyjamas right through to the dazzling headpieces, every part of the wedding shoot was elegantly on-trend. Alexandra Anne bridal boutique showcased a glorious selection of big day designs, including a wow-factor princess dress with statement skirt and a super-cool boho bride lace gown. The soft blue, bejewelled court shoes were the perfect accessory for that Something Blue.
